The Birth of Jio : Explained

Today everyone knows about Jio Telecom business as 3 among 10 people in India are jio users. Jio have expanded a wider way in the last few years destroying many Telecom business in India. But does anyone know how the idea of Jio came to Mukesh Ambani.

History of Reliance Jio:

Back in 2011, when Isha Ambani daughter of Mukesh Ambani was studying in Yale University, USA came back to India on holiday.

One day, she was trying to submit a assignment back in USA via internet but the internet was so poor and the assignment was not able to sent.

But back then India was not having a digital background or digital infrastructure, the telecom companies back then had only voice call features(ISD/STD) and internet was on the slowly progressing stage.

Mukesh Ambani had already planned getting into Telecom business but when he got to know about the internet issues in India, he then researched and found out India was having poor internet connection and use of less data (due to unaffordable cost)

He saw the perfect opportunity into Telecom business and entered into Telecom market.

Hence, Jio was born.

Revolution in Telecom Industry 

After years of preparation and planning, on September 2016 Jio was introduced to public. Jio announced for free 4G data and calls for 6 months, when other Telecom companies were still in 3G services.

People then starting rushing for buying Jio SIM all over the country. This lead to huge gain of market share rapidly in a short span of time.

Present day Jio has become the largest telecom brand in India in terms of subscribers . Overtime Jio has expanded its portfolio and now it has many digital services in offering 

Jio had revolutionized the telecom industry in India to a extent that internet data is made so cheap and has a very large reach.

In 2016 Before Jio came to india 1Gb or internet costed around Rs.225/-

but after the entry of Jio today the price of internet per GB costs around 18 ruppees .Some plans of jio brings down the cost 5/-per Gb

After all this process the sucess statergies of Jio made it into the largest telecom company in india
