When RedBull energy drink was launched in London they spent $0 in marketing but the product reached the customer easily and in a short interval
The Story
Back in 1994, RedBull wanted to get into London market but instead of using Traditional marketing method like advertising on TV, radio or billboards they decided to do something unique which can gain customer attraction easily. They decided to market their product by trashing their own products.
What trashing?..... How can that be a marketing strategy, that is the question arises to everyone.
RedBull hired few local peoples and asked them to dump empty RedBull cans all over London on the public places over a night which mainly includes bus stops, railway stations, footpath, etc. That night changed the market share of RedBull in London.
The next morning when people were on roads they were confused seeing a new brand that they have never seen before, this created a perception in mind that RedBull is a high demanded product for energy drink. And them people started flooding in market for tasting the new energy drink.
Then people in London started loving the taste of new energy drink and this led to the rise in sale of RedBull. Over a period of time it was the most preferred drink in London
