This story is of a man who earned ₹2.17 crore by just using credit card and now the question arises HOW???

The Story

According to Times Now, Konstantin Anikeev who lives in USA has earned in credit card cashbacks since 2009 by buying gift cards using hid credit card. He would encash the gift cards and earn few dollars and pay his credit card bill on time, this payment of credit card on time earned him rewards or points from the credit card company, which is considered as earning at this case.

For Example, if he purchased a $500 worth of gift card using his credit card and earned reward of $25. And encashing may cost him fee of $6,with profits of of $19. 

This process happened for long time at higher amount.. Over the the years Anikeev amassed $300,000 or ₹2.17 crore. But here comes the problem, when tax department saw an unusual exponential rise in Anikeev income he was charged penalty and his earnings where taken by the government. After years of lengthy court cases, it was ruled that Anikeev could retain his earning but it would be considered as profits.
